SCA youth training communicates team spirit ...
... and also the right skiing technique.

Our youth – our future

The encouragement of youth is very important to the SCA. In Lech and Zürs alone, more than 70 children and youths partake in SCA youth training. Five trainers gently guide the young generation into the discipline of "skiing". Training already begins in summer with coordination exercises, climbing, mountain biking, canyoning, endurance training and many other sporting and social activities. Before the ski season opens in Arlberg, the glacier training takes place. Whoever thinks that SCA youth training only involves racing is mistaken. Free skiing, handling avalanche victim search devices, powder or firn descents, telemark, snowboarding and many more interesting variations are taught by the trainers. The objective is clearly defined: The youth of Arlberg should receive a comprehensive and sound education in skiing, because skiing is one of the most important components of the Arlberg, which the young inhabitants above all should master.

The SCA Squad
Continuous training in the last few years has produced a top group, the "SCA squad". The four lads and two girls are therefore kitted out with black SCA suits. They really represent our sporting hopes for the future and have already enjoyed notable success. Our top skier Michael Huber is presently right at the forefront throughout Austria. The other SCA squad members are also participating in the top of the country's field.
